Community Events Day
The Friday will see a number of events organised by our community.
Friday October 23 will be our second Community Events Day held at PostgreSQL Conference Europe. This will host events organised by other parts of the community.
Autonomous Postgres: From Scripts to Self-Driving Database
Postgres is evolving - from a system that DBAs operate to a system that increasingly operates itself. But how real is "Autonomous Postgres" today? Where does automation actually work, and where does it quietly break? What should we build next as a community?
PG Outreach Unconference
Calling everyone passionate about spreading PostgreSQL further and wider! If you are running PostgreSQL meetups, have experience engaging with non-Postgres meetups, or have experience speaking at non-Postgres conferences, join us at the PG Outreach Unconference for an informal, unconference-style event to exchange ideas on how PostgreSQL can better engage beyond its core audience.
Open Alliance for PostgreSQL Education Meetup
Join the Open Alliance for PostgreSQL education for an open meetup to gain insights in the work that we do. We will also share plans, ideas, our roadmap and other details on how we will grow and evolve the organization over the next few years.
New PostgreSQL Community Members - Summit
PostgreSQL has a large and welcoming community, but for newcomers it is not always clear how to get started, stay connected, contribute, or know who to reach out to. This interactive half day workshop is designed to help new and aspiring contributors explore the PostgreSQL ecosystem and build meaningful connections with experienced community members across different areas of activity.
Storytelling for Technical Communication
Good technical ideas, solutions, and projects get lost when they are not well communicated. This community event is a hands-on workshop to learn using storytelling in technical communication, helping you shape your presentations, present project results, submit feature requests, and communicate technical content more clearly and effectively.
PostgreSQL Training Materials Working Group
How do we attract the next generation of casual developers and database users to PostgreSQL? By making it incredibly easy to start. This working group will bring together community members, educators, and advocates to discuss the current gap in official beginner training materials and collaborate on solutions, such as creating a modern 5-Minute Quick Start guide.
A Postgres Ecosystem Foundation?
There are so many projects around Postgres which we rely on to extend functionality of the database engine, connect applications to the database, or simplify management and operations. Join us for an open discussion of the recent activity around developing the health of the ecosystem and what could be done to improve it further.
PostgreSQL Observability Summit
PostgreSQL now runs everywhere, on-prem, cloud-managed, on Kubernetes. Each deployment model comes with its own monitoring stack, its own blind spots, and its own trade-offs. This half-day summit brings together tool maintainers, cloud engineers, Kubernetes operators, and DBAs to explore what a unified PostgreSQL observability strategy looks like across deployment platforms, and where the gaps and opportunities are.
PostgreSQL on Kubernetes Summit
Join for an event focused on running PostgreSQL in cloud native (and cloud neutral) environments. We will explore the current landscape of Postgres operators, share best practices, discuss challenges, and dive deeper into production stories from both users and maintainers.
Organizing and Growing Community Events
The goal of this community event is to help organizers, speakers and others learn to grow the community around them. We will discuss growing speakers, reaching out to other groups, gathering sponsors and organizing events. We hope to train the next generation of volunteers and provide those volunteers with resources they need to be successful.
