About

If you are running PostgreSQL meetups, have experience engaging with non-Postgres meetups, or have experience speaking at non-Postgres conferences, join us at the PG Outreach Unconference for an informal, unconference-style event to exchange ideas on how PostgreSQL can better engage beyond its core audience.

We want to collaborate on ideas such as:

  • Expanding PostgreSQL's presence at non-Postgres conferences, and what has worked when giving talks to broader audiences.
  • Framing PostgreSQL-focused topics so they resonate beyond our core community and increase the chances of acceptance at external events.
  • Building bridges between PostgreSQL and other technology communities to encourage cross-pollination.
  • Starting and growing a PostgreSQL meetup, including practical steps to get things off the ground.
  • Promoting meetups effectively, attracting sponsors, and bringing in engaging speakers.
  • Building and sustaining a community, and bringing new people into the PostgreSQL ecosystem.

The event will run in an unconference style. This means that the event will only be as good as the sessions that you pitch on the day, so make sure you come along with ideas! The time available will be split into 25-minute timeslots; on the day, people can propose a session covering up to 2 time slots.

Following the event we will write up key takeaways about the topics discussed and publish them online.
