Autonomous Postgres: From Scripts to Self-Driving Database

Postgres is evolving - from a system that DBAs operate to a system that increasingly operates itself. But how real is "Autonomous Postgres" today? Where does automation actually work, and where does it quietly break? What should we build next as a community?

About

This half-day working session brings together practitioners, builders, and skeptics to explore how AI, machine learning, and automation are reshaping the way we develop, run, and scale PostgreSQL.

Through a curated set of short talks and an interactive discussion, we will move beyond hype and focus on:
  • What is working in production today
  • Where current approaches fall short
  • What “good” looks like for autonomous database systems
  • What the Postgres ecosystem should prioritize next
This is not a passive session. It is a collaboration of people who want to shape the future of a key Postgres capability.
