Presenting a lightning talk at PGConf.EU in Valencia, Spain

The Lightning Talk session is the final session of PGConf.EU.

It includes a series of short, 5-minute talks that are submitted onsite by conference attendees and selected during the conference.

We invite conference attendees to submit their proposals and strongly encourage those who have never presented at PGConf.EU to participate, so that we have some new voices this year.

Submitting Your Talk

There will be a box near the registration desk where you can drop a card with your proposal. The cards and pens will be provided.

The box for proposals will be available at the registration desk from Tuesday morning until 13:35 on Wednesday.

The programme committee will then select 9 talks and will notify you via email if you will be presenting.

Talk Selection

The programme committee reserves the right to discard talks that appear to be sales pitches or do not conform to the Code of Conduct. Additionally, if more than 9 submissions are received, the committee will select proposals to ensure that a few new speakers are included in the lineup.

Sending Slides

If your talk is selected, you will be informed via email by 16:00 on Wednesday.

You will need to email your slides to lt@pgconf.eu in PDF format no later than 10:30 on Thursday.

Note that we will not allow switching laptops for lightning talks. If you don’t send your slides on time, we won’t be able to include them in the deck and you’ll have to present without them!
